NOIDA: A fortnight after a 22-year-old man died after being hit by a speeding car near the elevated
road in Sector 61, the deceased’s
brother alleged that he was being “pressured for a settlement” in the case.
On August 28, Ayush
Mohan (22) died after suffering a serious head injury when a Ciaz car with registration number ‘DL 4 CAU 0521’ and driven by Cleo County resident Kanishk Dhyani, crashed into his motorcycle. Dhyani, a flight crew member in Air India, was booked for death due to negligence and rash driving after the
accident.
Sushil Mohan, Ayush’s elder brother told TOI that despite multiple requests and rounds of the police station, he was handed over a copy of the post-mortem report only on Sunday. The report in possession with TOI shows the cause of death as “ante-mortem injuries to brain”.
“I met the investigating officer on Sunday when Dhyani’s father and relatives were also present. The relatives asked me to think about the issue and figure out a way to settle it,” he said, adding that he was being pressured to “settle the case”.
Meanwhile, Sector 58 SHO Shavez Khan said that Kanishk was arrested and sent to jail soon after he got discharged on August 31.
“He has got bail and we will file a chargesheet. Any such complaint can come during the trial,” he said.
On August 28, Ayush’s bike and Dhyani’s car crashed into a footpath, resulting in serious injuries to the former. While
Ayush died on the spot, Dhyani, who was admitted to Bharat hospital in Sector 66, was discharged on August 31.
A hospital official told TOI that his “vitals were stable” when he was discharged. After the accident, an FIR was registered against an unknown accused un-der sections 279 (rash driving), 304 A (death due to negligence) and 427 (mischief causing damage). The accused was later identified as Dhyani.
Ayush, who was earlier working as a security guard with a mobile manufacturing company, had left the job and was travelling towards a call centre in Sector 63 where his younger brother worked, when the accident happened.
