Wardha: “Jobs available today would not be tomorrow. So, you have to keep learning and update yourself,” said
Nandan Nilekani, co-founder of Infosys Ltd and founding chairman of UIDAI, on Monday.
He was speaking during the inauguration ceremony of Bajaj Institute of Technology (BIT) at Pipri.
While addressing the students, he said, “We have seen two revolutions in technology; one when personal computers came and second when smartphones were developed. Now, we are ready for another revolution in technology — sense. Smartphones have changed our lives, while the new sense technology would do so as well.”
“It is good that our government is introducing technology at every sector. For cashless transactions, we are using UPI which has had a huge impact on our economy,” Nilekani said.
Talking about Aadhaar, he said, “Within 10 years, we have covered everyone under Aadhaar. Distribution of gas subsidies and others is going will and people are reaping benefits. Implementation of such a technology in India is a bit difficult, but we did it successfully in 10 years.”
“The talent in this country is bringing changes in every sector. New start-ups are coming up and creating thousands of jobs,” he said.
“Reading and updating yourself are the most important factors to tackle new challenges,” Nilekani said. When asked that MoS Santosh Gangwar’ statement that jobs are available in the country but not well-educated candidates, Nilekani said, “I am not aware about his statement but education should be according to job availability.”
Rahul Bajaj, chairman of Shiksha Mandal which runs BIT, said, “We are rising only due to two things — blessings of the almighty and the values which we have been practising while doing our business.”
Nilekani interacted with the students and answered their questions after the programme. He and his wife Rohini late visited Bapu Kuti in Sewagram and Gitai temple.
