Among the other losers were Alphageo (India) Ltd (down 1.37%), Reliance Industries Ltd (down 1.11%), Aegis Logistics Ltd (down 0.91%), Adani Gas Ltd (down 0.87%), and Oil India Ltd (down 0.42%).
On the other hand, Confidence Petroleum India Ltd (up 15.32%), Selan Explorations Technology Ltd (up 14.79%), and Goa Carbon Ltd (up 10%) moved up.
At 13:45 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was down 254.02 or 0.68% at 37130.97.
The Nifty 50 index was down 77.7 points or 0.7% at 10998.2.
