Tricity: Three-legged dog finds home

An adoption drive was organized by Tricity-based NGO at Sector 17
CHANDIGARH: The seventh adoption drive by Tricity-based non-governmental organization (NGO) Home For Paws was held at Sector 17 Plaza, opposite Neelam Theatre, on Saturday. During the drive, desi puppies were up for adoption and the event followed its agenda of highlighting the need for better human-dog interactions as well as adopting desi breeds that are better suited to the Indian environment.
The event kicked-off well and the group members hoped to find permanent homes for the dogs they were fostering.
The optimism grew when a female dog named Cuddles was rescued and treated by the group, after which she was sent to a foster home.
As fate would have it, Cuddles, with her injured leg that had to be amputated eventually, found a permanent home with her foster family and that too in the company of another dog.
Masha, now Cuddle's human, said: "We took care of her, hoping to find a loving home for Cuddles where her disability would be taken care of, but Cuddles walked into our home and, soon, into our hearts, and even made friends with my other dog, Blue. After that, there was no going back!"

Since the maiden adoption drive held in January at Sukhna Lake, Home for Paws has managed to facilitate the adoption of over 40 desi dogs into permanent homes.
The next adoption drive is scheduled to be organized on October 12 at 3pm in Sector 17 Plaza, Chandigarh.
