LUDHIANA:
Congress worker Jagdeep Singh Bulara - who is one of the two accused in the firing incident that took place at a restaurant near old sessions court chowk - has six criminal cases registered against him. Yet, licence of his weapon was not cancelled.
On Friday midnight, during the celebration of 50th birthday of Congress worker Parminder Singh Pappu, two Congressmen, Jaswinder Singh Bindi and Jagdeep, had opened fire, killing Congress leader Manjeet Singh, 42, of Guru Tegh Bahadur Nagar and injuring Sumit Saini, a Delhi resident who suffered a bullet injury on his left leg.
The incident occurred after an argument between Manjeet and the accused duo. Division 8 police arrested Jaswinder, who had opened fire at Manjeet, and recovered from him a .32-bore revolver, which he used in the crime.
