French tourist admits to performing vile sexual acts while parked in his car near busy roads - shocking women who walked past him

A French tourist has been fined $1200 after he was caught masturbating in public in in his delivery van.
Gregoire Philippe Wernert pleaded guilty to three counts of wilful and obscene exposure after being seen performing sex acts on himself in the driver's seat of his car.
All three offences occurred on Sydney's northern beaches in September, with Mr Wernert being caught by the same woman on two occasions.
His first incident was on Belgrave St in Manly on September 7th, when a woman saw him pleasuring himself with the windows down in his white VW Transporter van.

The woman was walking past his vehicle at the time of the offence, with the police fact sheet saying his actions were 'clearly visible from the footpath.'
Four days later, Mr Wernert parked outside a block of flats on Pittwater Road in Manly and was caught masturbating in the driver's seat with his windows down by the same woman.
She called police, and Mr Wernert fled the scene.
The next morning, Mr Wernert stopped in a bus lane on Pittwater Road near Coronation St, where he was seen masturbating by another woman.

The 32-year-old was interviewed by police before being charged.
'The accused stated that he didn’t intend on people seeing him masturbating within his vehicle,' the police fact sheet said.
Magistrate Michelle Goodwin told Mr Wernert in Manly Local Court that 'apart from being extremely distasteful acts, they are illegal.'
He was fined $400 for each incident.
