Mysuru: Teens take cattle to stream, drown

SHIVAMOGGA: Two teenagers drowned after one of them tried to follow a cow that ventured into the Bastikoppa Kere in Udri village of Soraba police station limits on Sunday.
According to the police, the deceased have been identified as Karthik, 16, and Vinayak, 16. The boys were near the stream with three buffaloes and a cow.
When the cow ventured into the water body, one of the teen followed it, but the rope slipped from his hand and he fell down. Another boy rushed to save him, but drowned. Both the boys did not know swimming.
A teenager passing by who saw something was wrong, informed the villagers. Bodies have been recovered and sent for post mortem and other formalities, police said, adding that the case is under investigation.
