UP: 2 killed, 16 injured after bus rams into truck on Yamuna expressway

A private bus packed with passengers rammed into a truck killing two people on Yamuna expressway on Sunday.
AGRA: A private bus packed with passengers heading Anand Vihar via Yamuna expressway, rammed into a truck, killing two men and injuring 16 other passengers on Sunday.
The accident took place at around 5:55am near milestone 66 of Naujheel police jurisdiction of Mathura district on Sunday. After the incident, victims were rushed to nearest hospitals of Mathura and Noida.
Dharmendra Dhaiya, station house officer of Naujheel said, "The speeding bus rammed into rear of a truck, which suggest either bus driver fell asleep on steering wheel or the truck made sudden halt in middle of the road. Both the drivers of the vehicle fled away after the accident. An FIR in the accident is yet to be registered."

The deceased victims of the road accident were identified as Danish Shamshi (22) resident of Lucknow and Mukesh Sharma (31) who hailed from Bulandshahar. The bus was heading national capital region from Ambedkar Nagar district. Out of the 16 injured, six were said to be in critical condition.
According to conservative estimate, the casualties figure on Yamuna expressway has crossed 145 deaths in 320 road accidents. The human loss figure is higher in comparison to last year (2018) which recorded 110 deaths in 659 road accidents.
