Fest for disabled people kicks off at MSU’s FTE

The fest is organized every year by budding engineers of MSU
VADODARA: Two days national level festival – ‘Prerna’ – that provides a platform to the disabled people from across the country to showcase their talents kicked off at Faculty of Technology and Engineering of M S University on Saturday.
The festival is organised every year by budding engineers of the faculty.
The first day of the event which is being promoted as Asia’s largest fest for disabled people witnessed three sports including the blind goalball, sitting volleyball and para taekwondo along with a fashion show titled ‘Ahvaan’ in the evening.
Para taekwondo is an adaptation of the sport of taekwondo for athletes with disability.
The indoor games for the participants which included the young and the old included chess, carrom, pot painting, mehendi and rangoli competitions.

‘Ahvaan’ is a new segment that the budding engineers have introduced this year to add grace and glamour to the fest.
People under the physically handicap category were given an opportunity to walk on the ramp even as they dressed in traditional Indian attire.
