Side-scan sonar from Uttarakhand will be used to trace the ill-fated boat in Andhra Pradesh

RAJAHMUNDRY: The Andhra Pradesh government is taking the help of Uttarakhand government to use the service of 'Side Scan Sonar' and 'Underwater Drone' to trace the missing boat.
The equipment will arrive at the incident spot of the boat capsized at Devipatnam by Tuesday morning.

The Uttarakhand government procured the Sonar system as part of upgradation of its disaster response system after the 2013 Kedarnath deluge that killed thousands of pilgrims.
"For first time such sophisticated equipment is being used in Andhra Pradesh to traced the missing persons and the boat" said a disaster response force officer to TOI.
