Pune: Man arrested, wife booked for beating up police constable

PUNE: Wakad police arrested a man and booked his wife for creating a ruckus and threatening policemen at a housing society premises at Rahatni. The man also kicked and punched one of the two police constables who had rushed to the site on being alerted about the ruckus.
The police later identified the arrested man as Sudarshan Sadaphule (41). Wakad police constable Jitendra Ugale lodged a complaint against Sadaphule and his wife.
According to police, the residents of a housing society picked up an argument with the couple over a trivial issues. The argument took a violent turn and the residents called the police control room. Police said that Sadaphule and other residents of the society were arguing with each other.

The two policemen on the patrolling duty attempted to pacify the residents of the society but Sadaphule and his wife kept on arguing with the other society residents. Police repeatedly requested the two to maintain peace to resolve the issue amicably.
Following this, Sadaphule and his wife started abusing Ugale and his colleague. And police requested them not to hurl abuses. However, in a fit of rage, Sadaphule charged at the policemen and kicked and punched Ugale. The two constables then overpowered Sadaphule and took him to police station.
