Gujarat: Priest accuses two of assault

AHMEDABAD: The priest of the Mahakali Temple on Hebatpur Road in Thaltej, Mahamandleshwar Rajendragiri, 63, lodged a complaint with Sola police station against two persons, Mahesh Bharwad, 33, a resident of Ghatlodia and Samant Odedra, a resident of Thaltej, for assault. The priest also alleged that the accused threatened to frame him in a rape and murder case.
The priest alleged that on Saturday night, both Bharwad, Odedra and an unknown woman came to the temple at about 2am and attacked him. He claimed that a civil suit regarding the ownership of the temple land is pending in court.

According to the FIR, on Saturday night, his dog started barking suddenly. “He got up and checked the gaushala on the temple premises. Bharwad and Odedra and a 30-year-old unknown woman, approached him,” said a Sola police official. The FIR states that Bharwad and Odedra told him that he should vacates the place or they would frame him in a rape case
