Nagpur: Drawing a rocket after watching movie ‘Mission Mangal’ inspired six-year-old
Tunisha Poacha to launch her own mission of donating 5,000 school bags to underprivileged children. She plans to donate the bags on ‘Festival of Giving’ to be celebrated on October 8. She has collected 608 school bags so far.
“Her message about her mission went viral on social media and she is getting huge response. Several bags are in transit,” says her father Khushroo who himself is committed to charity.
The idea struck Tunisha while drawing a rocket on a magic slate which was gifted to her brother Faroukh by her uncle. While watching TV she just asked her father, “Why can’t we donate such magic slates to the poor?” A little while later, she asked her father that he has donated clothes, foodgrains and other relief material to the flood-affected but why not school bags. Khushroo asked Tunisha, “Why don’t you do it? She said yes. “I immediately asked how many bags she wanted to donate — 100,1,000, 5,000? She chose the last figure, and thus started the mission,” said Khushroo.
Tunisha has named her mission ‘The Bags of Kindness’. Many people are coming forward to donate bags after reading about it on Facebook. Anybody willing to donate a school bag can do so by ordering it online or buying it locally. Courier it to Tunisha
