PANCHKULA: In a bizarre incident, two persons
thrashed a resident of Bir Ghaggar after their motorcycle had hit him on Saturday evening. A case has been registered at Chandimandir police station.
A complaint was given to the cops by Subhash Kumar, a sanitation worker. In his complaint to the cops, he alleged that on Saturday while he was standing outside his house, two motorcycle-borne men riding at a high speed hit Kumar, leaving him injured on his left hand. Monu,
nephew of the victim then slapped the accused identified as Vikas and Gyani, both residents of Bir Ghaggar.
On the same day, at around 9pm, the accused along with around 12 persons gathered at Kumar's house and brutally thrashed Monu. When Kumar tried to intervene, one of the accused identified as Sumit attacked him with a knife and pelted stones at them. The accused then fled the spot.
Based on the complaint, a case under sections 147 (punishment for rioting), 148 (rioting, armed with deadly weapon), 149 (every member of unlawful assembly guilty of offence committed in prosecution of common object), 323 (punishment for voluntarily causing hurt) and 324 (voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapons or means) of the Indian Penal Code. Assistant sub-inspector Yogdhyan Singh, the investigation officer, said, "We have registered a case based on the complaint and the investigation is under progress."
