DINDIGUL
In a case reported under Dindigul Town South police station limits, a 14-year-old girl hailing from Periyur in Kodaikanal and studying 9th standard in an aided school at Begambur here, was allegedly bitten by a poisonous snake late on Saturday night when she was sleeping in the school hostel.
The girl was rushed to Dindigul Government Hospital where she was declared brought dead. Preliminary investigation revealed a snake present in the room had bitten the victim. The body was handed over to her family after postmortem. The police have registered a case under Section 174 of Cr.Pc and further investigation is on.
