RAJKOT/AHMEDABAD: The Gujarat State Civil Supplies Corporation (GSCSC) has directed its Rajkot office to lodge a police complaint against its dismissed employee for filing a false application with the Pradhyumannagar police station in a 2016 case of irregularities to the tune of Rs 1.05 lakh.
GSCSC's in-charge manager (vigilance) on Friday dashed off a letter to the deputy district manager, Rajkot, asking him to lodge a complaint against HJ Solanki, the former in-charge godown manager at Morbi, who sought an investigation in the case.
Solanki was dismissed from service in September last year over alleged irregularities to the tune of Rs 65.70 lakh in grains stock came to fore at the godown in Morbi.
After receiving the application, Pradhyumannagar police sub-inspector MB Goswami left the department deeply embarrassed by issuing a notice to senior IAS officer Manish Bhardwaj, the then managing director of GSCSC, asking him to remain present in the police station to file his reply. In fact, Bhardwaj, an IAS officer of 1997 batch, who was recently transferred as secretary, animal husbandry and fisheries, had effected the recovery of Rs 1.29,260 through an order passed on March 25, 2019.
In the case, then deputy district manager ND Jarsania had taken Rs 1.05 lakh as security deposit from Dhoraji-based Dwarkesh Hydraulic for some labour work at a godown in Dhoraji. However, the amount was not deposited in the corporation's account.

An inquiry was conducted against Jarsania following which Bhardwaj had passed an order on March 25, 2109 to recovery the amount from him. Jarsania had retired in April 2017, but the amount was recovered from the post-retirement dues that were withheld pending the inquiry.
"Despite the fact that the corporation had issued an order to recover Rs 1,29,260 from Jarsania, Solanki is trying to mislead the police and the state government in this case by lodging a false complaint," stated the letter.
