West Indies cricketer Andre Russell has been declared clear of any serious injury after the all-rounder was hit in the helmet and got carted off the pitch during a Caribbean Premier League match on Thursday, organisers said.
St Lucia Zouks pacer Hardus Viljoen's stinging short delivery struck Russell near the right ear during his attempts to play the pull shot.
The Jamaica Tallawahs player left the field on a stretcher with a neck brace on and was taken straight to the doctors.
Caribbean Premier League organisers now have confirmed the 31-year-old had been cleared by scans at the hospital.
"Under the doctor's advice he has headed back to the team hotel with his wife and a member of the Tallawahs medical team to rest and recover," the league said on Twitter.

Australian batsman Phillip Hughes lost his life after being hit with a bouncer in the head during a Sheffield Shield match in Sydney in 2014.
In the ongoing Ashes series, fellow Aussie cricketer Steve Smith was also knocked by a vicious short delivery from English pacer Jofra Archer in the second Test match at Lord's.
Smith did return to continue his bating after a concussion test but later on, was ruled out of the third match at Headingley.
