A father and son have used a simple hack to rob a homeowner of thousands of dollars of cash and valuables.

Victim Jo Ellis said the men broke into her car on Wednesday morning before taking her garage door remote and car servicing book which had her address written inside.

The men then used the details to locate her home.

Later that day CCTV filmed the pair pulling into Ms Ellis's Pepperina Court home in Ormeau, south of Brisbane.

Ms Ellis said she felt violated after discovering the men had come to her home twice within minutes before stealing jewellery, birth certificates, four passports and thousands of dollars in cash.

'They entered the house for about a minute and then they left,' she told 9 News.

The men then returned a short time later which is when Ms Ellis believes they raided her home.

It's believed the Holden Rodeo the two men were filmed in was stolen in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

A Queensland Police spokeswoman confirmed to Daily Mail Australia the investigation into the incident was ongoing.

Police urge anyone with information which may help with their investigation to report it to Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
