CHENNAI:
DMK president
M K Stalin on Friday asked his party cadre not to erect banners, hoardings and flex boards for party functions and marriages in their families.
In a statement, Stalin warned that he would not only take action against such party cadre but also boycott the functions.
Stalin’s statement comes a day after software engineer R Subashree died after being knocked off her two-wheeler by a
banner and run over by a tanker coming from behind. The banner was erected by an AIADMK functionary.
"I have several times advised the party cadre not to erect hoardings, flex boards and banners which would affect traffic and disturb the public. But still such banners are being used, and I will not think twice to take action against such party members," warned Stalin.
He said for the sake of publicising a party function, one or two boards can be erected after getting proper permission at a place which would not disturb the public.
