The United Nations Secretary General Mr.Antonio Guterres turning down the Pakistan appeal told it that there was no change in UN stand on Kashmir. It is bilateral issue to settle among themselves with India. The United Nations had burnt its finger once with Pakistan defiance of UN verdict when India referred the Kashmir issue to United Nations in 1948. At that time UN first of all secured ceasefire to stop armed forces action on the basis of area under control and declared it ceasefire line. The UN posted UN observes to supervise it.
Along with it UN gave the decision that first of all the Pakistan should vacate the occupied areas in Kashmir then the referendum would be held under UN supervision to decide where the people of Jammu and Kashmir would decide to go with India or Pakistan.
The Pakistan refused to accept the verdict and never vacated the occupied areas and United Nation could not implement its decision to hold referendum after it. Further more in Simla Agreement between Indian Prime Minister Mrs.Indira Gandhi and Pakistan President Mr.ZA Bhutto they decided to keep away UN from Kashmir issue and there on Kashmir and all other issues be decided bilaterally among them. They renamed the ‘Ceasefire line’ created by UN as Line of Control.
Now Pakistan is disowning Simla Agreement and wanted UN to take up and its involvement again and the UN declined to have it on its agenda again. Earlier Pakistan refused to accept the UN verdict because it meant that referendum would be held in the entire Jammu and Kashmir Princely state. The North is Buddhista majority Ladakh in the mid in Valley 70 per cent were Muslims and 30 per cent Kashmiri Pandit and other Hindu community, in the south the Jammu had 80 per cent Dogra Rajpur and other Hindus.
That had clear indication that the referendum verdict would go in favour of India. The another factor was Shaikh Abdulah, a close friend of Pandit Nehru and his Muslim followers were also in favour of India. For Pakistan the Kashmir means only Muslim populated Valley area and not the whole Kashmir. After Bangla Desh liberation and creation of independent nation the Pakistan instigated a section of people among Muslim population that they should demand “Azadi” that would create independent Kashmir like Bangla Desh. He promised and providing them funds end arms and terrorists.
The Modi Government has launched the ‘All Out operation against the terrorists, stopped to funding and arms supply from Pakistan side. It abolished Section 370 and 35-A with determination. The Modi Government carried out air attack inside the Pakistan on terrorists in Balakot and Quetta.
The Muslim nations UAE and Bahrain gave highest civilian honour to Prime Minister Mr.Narendra Modi. Their foreign ministers in a visit to Pakistan told that they would not meddle in Kashmir. It was its bilateral issues. The biggest problem that Pakistan facing that it not knowing what to do in such position, when the Muslim nations are not supporting it and terrorists have become liability on it as UN and other nations are targeting it on terrorist issue. The economic situation in Pakistan is worst and prices of essential commodities have up sky high. The coming days for Pakistan are very critical politically and economically.
