BC Welfare Minister offers prayers at temples after Cabinet inclusion

Minister for BC Welfare and Civil Supplies Gangula Kamalakar has claimed that all TRS legislators won the 2018 Assembly elections by banking on Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao’s image.

“Even I won the election that way. People voted for me only after seeing Mr Rao’s picture [in my campaigning material]. In subsequent elections too, people will elect TRS candidates that way,” he said.

A day after taking oath as Minister, Mr Kamalakar arrived here on Monday night and the next morning, offered prayers at the Sri Venkateshwara Swamy temple and Shiva temple.

Later, while addressing a press conference, he said the erstwhile Karimnagar district is the only one in the State with four ministers.

Thanking the Chief Minister and TRS working president K.T. Rama Rao for including him in the State cabinet, he said, “I am ready to give my blood for the party. I will remain in the party till my last breath and will act as a suicide squad member of the party.”

Asserting that he along with Health Minister Eatala Rajender, Zilla Parishad chairperson Vijaya and other legislators would work as a family and strive for the development of the district, he promised to work towards the upliftment of BCs in the State and make the Civil Supplies Department free of corruption.

Reiterating that the Smart City project was bought to Karimnagar town by the Chief Minister, he said that the road works would begin in the town from Wednesday.

He also said that all measures are being taken to start the IT Towers from Dasara festival to provide employment to 3,600 youths in a total of three shifts.
