Western Railway to run AC local service all week now

WR is expected to introduce more services in a few weeks
MUMBAI: Spelling relief to a large number of regular commuters and tourists, Western Railway announced it would run air-conditioned local services throughout the week from this weekend.
WR introduced the AC local on December 25, 2017, but services were run only between Monday and Friday. WR’s chief public relations officer, Ravinder Bhakar, said, “On weekdays, we run 12 services. A similar number of services will be operational on weekends too.”

WR is expected to introduce more services in a few weeks. This has become possible after the arrival of a second rake in August. Meanwhile, MP Kapil Patil from Bhiwandi Loksabha constituency has demanded AC locals between Kalyan and CST on the Central line.
Patil raised the demand at a meeting with senior Central Railway officials on Tuesday. Patil said officials had assured a DPR (detailed project report) of the newly sanctioned Kalyan-Murbad Railway line would be prepared within four months and work would begin in nine months.
