'Darkest Day in Democracy': CBN | "This is the darkest day in democracy. Never seen a fascist regime. Thousands of house arrests are abusive...We will fight for justice for the victims," says TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu in a tweet.

Animal Husbandry Minister Mopidevi Venkata Ramana said, "For five years, people of Palnadu region faced repression at the hands of the then Speaker Kodela Sivaprasada Rao and Gurazala MLA Y Srinivasa Rao. What did Naidu do then? Palnadu is now peaceful after Jagan Mohan Reddy became Chief Minister." Ramana had earlier said that Chandrababu Naidu was indulging in "shameless politics" by using "paid artists" as victims, in reponse to the opposition leader's call to protest.

Andhra Pradesh Director General of Police Damodar Goutam Sawang said that Opposition leader Chandrababu Naidu was taken into preventive custody because his actions are increasing tensions and creating disturbance to law and order in the Palnadu region of Guntur district. Police didn’t take him into preventive custody for fighting against policies of Government of Andhra Pradesh, the DGP clarified.

Police stopped TDP leaders from entering Chandrababu Naidu's residence. The gates of his residence were fortified with ropes after he tried to defy house arrest and go to Atmakuru, carrying out the protest.

Police security deployed in Atmakuru after the TDP announced a protest march and several members were later detained.

'Will Go to Atmakuru at Any Cost Today': CBN | Addressing the media at his residence, TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu says, "I have been detained since morning. There is no question of dropping from "Chalo Atamakuru" tour, and the govt Can't stop the programme with my detention." He further says,"Even maids also not allowed into my house This kind of Incidents never happened before in history. At any cost i will go to Atmakuru today."

Lokesh Nara Alleges Government Incapacity | Chandrababu Naidu's son Nara Lokesh in a tweet says that the ruling government was incapable. He also said that his party members were being arrested and mocked for protesting peacefully

YSRCP Members Also Deatained | Some leaders of the ruling YSR Congress were also detained in Guntur as they too gave a call for a similar programme as a counter to the TDP's protest. YSRCP spokesman Ambati Rambabu said despite facing crushing defeat in the elections Naidu was resorting to gimmicks. The YSRCP at its rally would highlight the repression by TDP on its cadres, he said.

Member of the Legislative Assembly from the TDP YVB Rajendra Prasad has also been put under house arrest in Uyyuru in the state's Krishna district after several other leaders of the party met the same fate.
