Over 30 passengers sustained minor injuries when the bus they were travelling in fell off the road in Thandalam near Vedanthangal in Kancheepuram district on Monday.
The mishap occurred when the private bus packed with passengers was proceeding from Maduranthagam to Uthiramerur. As the driver was speeding, he lost control of the vehicle, which fell off the road.
Villagers rush to rescue
The villagers from Thandalam rushed to the rescue of passengers who were caught under the bus. All the injured were taken to the Government hospital, Maduranthagam where they were treated and discharged, the police said.
