A lecturer and his assistant were arrested for cheating several parents with promises of providing MBBS admission to their children in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.
Sleuths of Special Operations Team, L.B. Nagar Zone, along with L.B. Nagar police apprehended the duo, and recovered ₹9.45 lakh and a car from them. Arige Venkataramaiah (45), a lecturer from L.B. Nagar, had started an institution and offered MBBS seats under management quota. “After collecting money, he did not provide medical seats to the aspirants and cheated them,” police said. His assistant Yaga Sravani (27) of Nirmal town was also arrested.
