Gang of cell phone robbers held in Warangal

WARANGAL: Hanamkonda police arrested a five-member gang of cell phone robbers on Tuesday and seized 87 cell phones worth Rs 30 lakh, two cars and two motorcycles from their possession. The accused would snatch the cell phones of devotees arriving at Padmakshi Lake for immersing Ganesha idol.
On Wednesday, when the gang members were asked to show their ID cards by police patrolling the area, they tried to flee but were nabbed by the police. During interrogation, they confessed to the crime.
