The State government is likely to institute an award in the name of Kalki Krishnamurthy for best novel, said Minister for Tamil Official Language and Tamil Culture K. Pandiarajan on Monday.

Speaking at the birthday anniversary of Kalki Krishnamurthy, he said his contribution to Tamil literary world has been enormous. Soon, the government may organise a tour for visitors specially covering all the historical sites like Vedaranyam that come in Kalki’s works, he said.

Mr. Pandiarajan said he is planning to meet music composer A.R. Rahman this week to discuss the setting up of proposed music museum. “Mr. Rahman wanted to build a massive museum that will be as big as the one in France. with musical instruments. This is a great concept. There is already one in north Chennai and this one can be constructed along with that or it can be done in Tiruvaiyaru too as we have space there. Tagore Cultural Complex too may pitch in with funds. We will take this idea to the Chief Minister soon,” he said.

Musicians K. Bharat Sundar and S. Krishna were presented the Kalki Krishnamurthy Memorial Award. Seetha Ravi of Kalki Krishnamurthy Memorial Trust spoke.
