ACB officials on Monday conducted a surprise check on Sub-Registrar’s office at Gajuwaka and recovered unaccounted ₹2.44 lakh.
According to ACB DSP Ranga Raju, the check was conducted after they received a complaint that 0.5% was being collected on government registration rate. During the raid, they found 12 unauthorised persons, mostly document writers on the premises.
As per the ACB, the Sub-Registrar allegedly allowed two persons —Malleswara Rao and Paparao—to specifically collect money from the people.
Mr Ranga Raju said they were questioning the Sub-Registrar and the two unauthorised persons.
