HYDERABAD: A pet
German Shepherd cross terrier dog that was allegedly stolen from the owner’s house was reunited with its owners within four hours after it went missing.
The 18-month-old dog named Bittu belonged to
Jyothidhar Singh, a resident of Kumarwadi in Chandrayangutta.
According to Singh, the dog was stolen by a group of men who have been coming to the area to enquire about it from the past few days. “There were about six men who came on three bikes, lured my dog to the lane adjacent to my house and took it away on an
Activa bike.”
“A couple of these men came to me a few days ago to inquire about the breed of my dog. I suspect these are the same people,” said Singh.
After searching for the dog in the surrounding areas for a couple of hours after it went missing, Singh approached Chandrayangutta police and filed a missing complaint.
The police reviewed the CCTV footage of the area from where the dog went missing after the complaint was filed around 1pm.
“We traced the vehicle numbers from the CCTV footage and located the vehicle owner along with the dog in Barkas. We suspect that these men are illegal breeders. We are still investigating,” said M Kondala Rao, detective sub-inspector, Chandrayangutta police station.
