A blanket could be a vital clue in solving the death of a woman who was shot in the chest at her ex-boyfriend's home.
Ivona Jovanovic, 27, died in hospital after she was hit with a bullet at a house in Highland Park, on the Gold Coast, on Sunday night.
The incident unfolded at the home of Ms Jovanovic's ex-boyfriend Christos Panagakos, 27, with several people allegedly fleeing the scene after calling an ambulance.
Panagakos - who had fled into bushland - was arrested when he returned home early on Monday morning and spent the day being questioned by investigators.
According to police, Panagakos was wearing a blanket at the time which they believe may have been taken from a nearby home.

They have urged anyone who might recognise the blanket to come forward.
Daily Mail Australia does not suggest Panagakos was involved in the woman's death and he has not been charged.
Panagakos is known to police, is an alleged associate of the Barbaro underworld family and the Mongols bikie gang - and was jailed on drug and weapons charges in 2016.
Police don't believe the shooting is bikie-related, or a domestic violence incident, with Panagakos telling detectives he was still good friends with his ex-partner.
Ms Jovanovic is believed to have been shot with a unlicensed hand gun, which has yet to be found.
According to 9News, neighbours said they had seen a car drive off from where the gunshot was heard.
Detective Acting Superintendent Brendan Smith told the Courier Mail the incident may have been a terrible accident.
'This is a clear example of where things go wrong,' Superintendent Smith said.
'We certainly don't believe there's any suggestion that it's bikie-related but the people who are involved have got links to clubs.'

Police are appealing for the other people who were there on the night Ms Jovanovic was shot to come forward.
'While they called the ambulance, there's a lot of first-aid that could have been rendered at the time that may or may not have made a difference,' Superintendent Smith said.
No charges have been laid.
Tributes flooded in for Ms Jovanovic on Monday, including one from Allaina Vader, the girlfriend of ex-Hells Angel bikie Ben Geppert.
'So sad to hear about your death,' she wrote.
'Absolutely horrific and I can't believe it. Fly high angel.
'This is the worst month of my life. What is happening? I was just speaking to you. My heart is already hurting, now this.'
Another friend Livvy Hodge posted: 'Another beautiful soul gone way too early. Rest In Peace Ivona Jovanovic we will all miss you.'
In a chilling twist, Ms Jovanovic's Facebook bio read: 'Sometimes bad things happen to good people.'
Just hours before her death she posted an Instagram story of her in a car and then enjoying the sunset by the sea with her bulldog.
'I just love you a million meatball,' the caption read.
