The police have charged Suresh Kumar of Pavandoor with murdering his mother, Devaki, at the Government Medical College Hospital here on Monday evening.
The 72-year-old woman had been undergoing treatment for heart ailments at ward number 21 of the hospital. The police said that Suresh Kumar, in an inebriated state, banged her head on the wall and she died of the injuries later.
He was arrested under Section 302 of the Indian Penal Code. He was produced in the court later in the evening.
