Youth steals phone in Amazon office, caught

NOIDA: A 22-year-old youth was caught in an Amazon packaging office allegedly stealing items meant for delivery to customers.
The accused Zakir, a resident of Aligarh, was arrested on Monday morning after the company staff caught him red-handed stealing a mobile phone, police said.
According to police, Zakir worked as a contractual helper in the packaging department at the company’s Sector 63 office.
Devendra Singh, the station house officer of Phase III police station, said the cops received information from the company officials that Zakir had been caught stealing the phone meant for delivery.
“It is being alleged that he stole the mobile phone while it was being packed for customers in the packaging department. This is the first such complaint we have received from the company,” he said.
However, there have been reports when customers of e-retailers have found items missing from their packets that have been delivered to them. An FIR has been lodged against Zakir under IPC sections 381 (theft by clerk or servant of property in possession of master) and 411 (dishonestly receiving stolen property).
