Apple has launched a new 10.2-inch iPad at its fall event in Cupertino, California.In a surprise announcement, Apple made the seventh-generation iPad official at the company’s fall event in Cupertino, California. The entry-level iPad replaces the current 9.7-inch iPad.
Apple says the new iPad has a 10.2-inch Retina Display. It’s also the first non-iPad Pro with Apple’s Smart Connector. The iPad is powered by Apple A10 Fusion chip and also supports the first-generation iPad Pencil. The new iPad will be available to order from today and the shipping will start at the end of the month.
The new iPad sports a 10.2-inch Retina IPS display with a resolution of 2160×1620 and 500-nits of peak brightness. The device is powered by the Apple A10 Fusion chip, 1.2MP front camera, 8MP rear camera, Bluetooth v4.0, and TouchID on the bottom bezel.
It costs $329 (roughly Rs 23,600) for the base Wi-Fi only model, while the Wi-Fi + Cellular base model is priced at $459 (around Rs 33,000). For education users, Apple is offering the new iPad at $299 (around Rs 21,500).
Apple iPad India pricing
The new 10.2-inch iPad in India starts at Rs 29,900 for its Wi-Fi only model, which comes with 32GB storage. The Wi-Fi + Cellular model starts at Rs 40,900 in India. Apple said that the new iPad will be up for orders today in the US and 25 other countries and regions, though it did not reveal which countries these are.
