Police on Monday released images of Mr Forbes and Ms Lowden, along with the green 1994 Nissan Patrol wagon they were travelling in.
A friend of Mr Forbes, Jacob McGhee, reached out to people on Facebook to help locate the missing campers and posted a map of the area they were travelling through.
'He was supposed to be working today but no one has heard from him since Friday so starting to think he’s gotten stuck out there,' Mr McGhee said on Facebook.
'He sleeps in the back so won’t have a swag or anything on him.'

The search is based out of Rawson and local police units including air wing and SES are searching into the Walhalla Thomson Dam area.
The Walhalla area has a population of just 20, but is a popular location for hikers and campers due to the surrounding hills and trees.
The region where the pair went missing has experienced below zero temperatures over the weekend.
