Ludhiana, September 9, 2019: In its efforts to ensure jobs to the unemployed youth of district under the state government’s flagship 'Ghar-Ghar Rozgar’ scheme, the district administration organized a state-level job fair in ITI (Boys) Gill road on Monday.
More than 1000 candidates were interviewed by 112 companies in the fair. The job fair was inaugurated by Councillor Mamta Ashu.
Speaking to reporters, Ashu said that Punjab Government is committed to providing jobs to all eligible youths. She said that in this fifth-edition of job fairs, 2.10 lakh jobs will be provided and loans will be offered to more than 1 lakh youths for starting their ventures.
She said that the government is organizing 82 job fairs in this fifth-phase and the successful candidates will be given appointment letters by Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh on October 5 in Ropar.
Mamta Ashu told that more than 8 lakh jobs have already been provided by Punjab Government in the earlier phases of Ghar-Ghar Rozgar program.
She said that on September 10, 2019, the job fairs will be held at Gulzar Group of Institutes, Khanna, Govt Senior Secondary School, Jagraon and at ITI (Girls), Samrala. Further, another job fair would be organised at the Government Institute of Textile Chemistry and Knitting Technology, Rishi Nagar, Ludhiana on September 11.
Mamta Ashu said that the main aim of organising these job fairs is that the maximum number of unemployed youth of the state get employment.
She urged the youths to attend these job fairs in large numbers as several well-known companies would participate in these job fairs.
On the occasion, ADC (Jagraon)-cum-CEO District Bureau of Employment and Enterprises Ludhiana, Neeru Katyal Gupta, Ludhiana West SDM Amarinder Singh Malhi, Deputy Mayor Sarabjeet Kaur, District Congress Chiefs Ashwani Sharma and Kiranjeet Singh Soni, OSD to Technical Education Minister Bhupinder Singh Honey, Principal Baljinder Singh and others were present.
