The Met office has predicted the continuance of cloudy weather conditions prevalent in the city and its adjoining areas during the next 5-6 days. The weather office has also forecasted chances of light rainfall during this period, with the maximum temperature likely to be around 32-33 degrees celsius.

While the cloud cover with occasional sunshine is going to keep the mercury under check, it is likely to increase the relative humidity due to the abundance of atmospheric moisture, resulting in sultry weather conditions. Also, the minimum temperature during this period is likely to remain around 25-26 degrees Celsius.

Meanwhile, the city on Sunday recorded a maximum temperature of 33.9 degrees Celsius. The sultry weather combined with occasional sunshine gave a tough time to Amdavadis. The minimum temperature on Sunday was 26.5 degrees Celsius.

As far as the state is concerned, the weather office has predicted light to moderate rainfall in several places in the districts of south Gujarat region, Saurashtra, and north Gujarat such as Banaskantha, Sabarkantha, Aravalli, Kheda, Anand, Panchmahals, Dahod, and Mahisagar. Also, heavy rainfall can also take place at isolated places in the Saurashtra and south Gujarat region.

Notably, the rainfall is expected due to the presence of a east-west shear zone combined with a off shore trough from south Gujarat to north Kerala coast. Also, there is a cyclonic circulation over Saurashtra and its neighbourhood which is likely to bring rainfall to the state.

Meanwhile, 118 talukas in the state on Sunday recorded rainfall between 6 am to 6 pm.
