NEW DELHI: The Bihar School Examination Board is going to going to conduct the State Teachers Eligibility Test 2019 (STET) and Physical Education and Health Instructor Examination 2019 (PEHIE) on November 7.

The aspirants will have to fill online application forms for the two examinations between September 9, 2019 and September 18, 2019.


Announcing this, the Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) chairman Anand Kishor said the examinations would be held as per the vacancies in government schools for secondary and higher secondary classes. "For STET exam, candidates will appear for the paper I (classes IX and X) and paper II (classes XI and XII) against 25,270 and 12,065 vacancies, respectively," he said.

The candidates will have to appear for written exam and physical fitness test. The written test of paper I and paper II of STET will be of 150 marks each - 100 marks for the selected subject and 50 marks for reasoning. The duration of examination will be two-and-a-half hours.

Kishor said for paper 1, candidates can choose one of the seven subjects - English, mathematics, science, social science, Hindi, Sanskrit and Urdu. "In paper II, candidates can select English, mathematics, physics, chemistry, botany, zoology and computer science," he said, adding that STET will be conducted in the state after a gap of eight years.

Applicants must ensure that they possess requisite qualifications, as shown in the Details of the Posts and fulfil all the required criteria before applying for the post.

The aspiring applicants may submit their applications through online only from 09.09.2019 (11:00 A.M.) to 18.09.2019 (11:59) and no other mode of application shall be accepted. Before applying online, applicants must ensure that they have with them a valid E-mail ID and an active Mobile Number.

The minimum cut off for general category will be 50% and 45% for SC/ST, disabled and women.

Eligibility & Selection

The candidates should be having a graduation degree in education along with any other educational degrees with a minimum of 50% marks in it of any recognized university or Pravin/ Ratna in Hindi/BA Hindi with a minimum of 50% marks along with B.Ed of any recognized university specifically in case of Hindi teachers.

The selections of all the applicants shall be based on the STET and the minimum qualifying marks for qualifying in the test is 60% for all the candidates.

The online application form for Registration contains basic data viz., Personal details, Education Details, Work Experience, Photo & signature upload, Preview /Edit, Payment and Registration slip.
