As part of its campaign to expose rogue autorickshaw drivers who add to the commuting woes of citizens with the refusal to ply and rude behaviour, DNA hit the road in Andheri on Monday for first-hand experience.

What we saw was a brazen disregard for the law by auto drivers and hapless and frustrated faces of passengers.

A web designer was forced to hitch a bike ride from a stranger after a steady stream of 15 autos refused to ply him.

The disappointment was even greater for the fact that a police chowky sits close to the spot. The police, who are supposed to take the errant auto drivers to task, were clearly failing in their duty towards the public.
