An earthquake measuring 4.9 on the Richter Scale jolted the Doda belt of Jammu and Kashmir's Chenab Valley, including Bhadarwah, Kishtwar, Gandoh, Bhallesa, and Thathri today at 12:10 PM.
The quake struck the Jammu and Kashmir- Himachal Pradesh (Chamba) Border.

Later, a report by the Pakistan Meteorological Department said that the depth of the tremor was situated at 12 kilometres along the India border.
There were no immediate reports of casualties or damage to property as a result of the quake.
According to reports, tremors were also felt in Pakistan's Islamabad which spread fear among the locals temporarily, till the situations were normal
The epicentre is said to have been located in the Hindukush Mountains area of Afghanistan.
