A teenager who was given a $550 fine for surfing naked at a popular Sydney beach told police the stunt was for a free burger.
The 19-year-old said his friends had promised him a free burger if he surfed nude at the Manly Beach, Sydney, on Sunday afternoon.
Onlookers including families and young children watched on in horror as the man stripped naked and paddled out on his surfboard, the Daily Telegraph reported.

Beachgoers were reportedly left horrified after watching the streaker stand up on his board and start riding the waves.
Shortly after paddling out, police were called to the scene and the man's daring challenge was cut short.
When authorities arrived, the Forestville man was beckoned to shore where he was questioned by the police officers.
According to a Northern Beaches Police spokesman, the young man did not appear to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
He told police his friends had dared him to carry out the challenge in exchange for a free burger.
The dare proved to be a foolish decision, as the young man was slapped with a heavy $550 fine.
'He told police that he was regretful and remorseful for his actions after considering the impact they had on the public,' the police spokesman said.
