MARKET LIVE: Indices turn flat, Nifty above 10,900; auto stocks decline

After opening with over half a per cent cut, benchmark indices were trading flat in the morning deals on Monday. 

The S&P BSE Sensex was up 22 points, or 0.06 per cent, to 37,004 levels. Tata Motors, Maruti Suzuki India, Hero MotoCorp, Mahindra & Mahindra, and Bajaj-Auto were the top laggards in the Sensex pack. The broader Nifty50 index was up 2 points or 0.02 per cent at 10,948 levels. 

Majority of the Nifty sectoral indices were trading in the red. Both Nifty Metal and Nifty Auto indexes were trading with over a per cent cut each, while Nifty Pharma index gained the most 0.5 per cent.

In the broader market, the S&P MidCap index dipped 12 points, or 0.09 per cent, to 13,350 levels, and the S&P BSE SmallCap was down 18 points, or 0.15 per cent, at 12,580 levels.
