PALANPUR: The Sabarkantha police has become Good Samaritans for a six-day-old girl child who was abandoned by their parents outside
Sanjeevani’s Neonatal ICU & Children’s Hospital in Himmatnagar on August 29.
Sabarkantha superintendent of police (SP) Chaitanya Mandlik has decided to become the child’s guardian and declared that he would bear the expenses of her treatment.
“When it was reported that the girl child had been abandoned at the hospital, we went there to investigate. There it came to light that the child was suffering from serious respiratory complications,” said P V Gohil, sub-inspector with Himmatnagar B division police station.
Gohil reported the matter to SP Mandlik. When it came to the notice of Mandlik that it was necessary to mention the names of the infant’s parents for its further treatment, Mandlik said he would be the girl's guardian and would bear all expenses of the treatment.
