Rashid Khan was the star of the show with a match haul of 11 wickets. His 6/49 helped the visitors bowl out Bangladesh for 166 in the second innings, handing Afghanistan a memorable win.

Earlier, rain delayed the start of the fifth day’s play in the one-off Test between Bangladesh and Afghanistan on Monday, with the visitors on the cusp of victory. Having dominated in only their third ever Test, Afghanistan reduced the home side to 136 for six before rain forced an early close to the fourth day at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chittagong. Chasing an improbable 398, Bangladesh began with skipper Shakib Al Hasan unbeaten on 39 alongside Soumya Sarkar. But with their departure it was only a matter of time before Afghanistan won the match.

The first ball after the interval and Afghanistan start off with a bang. Zahir Khan removes Shakib Al Hasan in the very first delivery and the visitors are pumped up as they are three wickets away from victory. It was a short delivery turning away from the batsman and Shakib went deep inside his crease and tries to cut it towards the point and third-man. However, he gets an edge and the Afghani wicketkeeper Afsar Zazai makes no mistake. Shakib departs after scoring 44.  BAN: 143/7

The sun is out and the covers have been removed but is it too late for Afghanistan. The match will resume and as per the latest reports, a minimum of 19 overs will be bowled. However, both the teams will be fighting against time, one will try to bat as long as possible to, while the other would look to settle things as soon as possible. As per IST, the match is likely to start at 3:50 pm.
