Share market update: FMCG shares trade higher; HUL up over 1%

The Nifty FMCG index was trading 0.98 per cent up at 28,930.90 around 10:33 am.

NEW DELHI: FMCG shares were trading higher in Monday's morning session.

Shares of Hindustan Unilever (up 1.64 per cent) , GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Healthcare (up 1.44 per cent) , Godrej Consumer Products (up 1.25 per cent) and United Spirits (up 1.21 per cent) were the top performers in the index.
Tata Global Beverages (up 1.12 per cent) , Marico (up 1.05 per cent) , Dabur India (up 0.84 per cent) and ITC (up 0.74 per cent) too were trading higher.

The Nifty FMCG index was trading 0.98 per cent up at 28,930.90 around 10:33 am.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 51.65 points at 10,997.85 while the BSE Sensex was up 178.29 points at 37,160.06.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 35 were trading in the green, while 14 were in the red.

Shares of YES Bank, Tata Motors, Vodafone Idea, Equitas Holdings, JSPL, ICICI Bank, Ashok Leyland, SAIL, NBCC and PNB were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
