Pune: Muktangan Science Exploratory Centre’s students’ ‘Mangalmurti’ project is open for public from September 8 to 15.

The project aims at taking the Ganesh festival to an entirely new level using innovative ideas regarding ‘Makhar decoration’.

Modern tools and technology from electronics, microcontrollers, python programming and Internet of Things (IoT) have been implemented to create an interactive and exhilarating experience.

The ‘Makhar’ interacts with visitors and asks them to offer a flower to the Ganapati. As soon as the flower is offered, the entire ‘Makhar’ comes to life.

As soon as the sensor senses the flower, a music piece starts playing. A 3D motion art, created with paper and servo motor, starts creating enticing shapes, which are synced with music beats. Amidst these movements, the Ganapati idol appears on the sinhasan (throne) giving an exhilarating experience to visitors.

Alongside the Makhar decoration, a robotics exhibition is also organised for young minds.

Robots like ChocoATM, Smart Gate, Laddoo Chor and various other interesting robotic machines will also be a part of the exhibition.
