Gujarat: Man shot for complaining over harassment of daughter

AHMEDABAD: Shishupalsingh Pal, 40, an Uttar Pradesh native who lives in Ranip, shot a man who had complained to police about Pal harassing his daughter. Pal shot the victim when he was sitting with his friends in Chandlodia on Friday late night. The victim is being treated at Sola Civil Hospital while the accused has fled with his friends. The complainant alleged that before fleeing, the accused robbed him of Rs 10,000.

Sources said that the victim had submitted an application of complaint against the accused at Ranip police station, but no action was taken against the accused. Police officials said that Badansingh was especially incensed as Shishupal, who is 40, while Badansingh’s daughter is just 18.
According to police, the victim, Badansingh Pal, lives in Ranip and runs a soda shop in the area. The he alleged in his FIR that Shishupal was accompanied by two persons when he shot Badansingh. “After the incident, he may have fled to Uttar Pradesh. Sola police has registered a case for attempted murder and are hunting for the accused,” a police official said.
