Queensland police have launched a murder probe after the death of a young woman on the Gold Coast.

Officers were called to a house in Highland Park at about 8.30pm on Sunday after a woman was reported to have been shot.

The Labrador woman was taken from the address on Renfrew Drive to Gold Coast University Hospital.

The 27-year-old was pronounced dead in the hospital.

Police have launched a homicide investigation and are appealing for information.

'Police are appealing for anyone who saw anything suspicious on Renfrew Drive and Kincaid Drive or who has CCTV or dash-cam vision from the area to contact investigators,' police said in a statement.
