TDCCB opens 73rd branch at Erakudi

Minister for Cooperation Sellur K. Raju on Saturday inaugurated a new branch of Tiruchi District Central Cooperative Bank (TDCCB) at Erakudi near Thuraiyur.

He said that it was the 73rd branch of TDCC Bank, which had branches in Tiruchi, Karur, Perambalur and Ariyalur districts. This branch would cover Erakudi, Pachaperumalpatti, Ifatharpettai, Kamatchpuram, Murugur, Kottaiyur, Okkarai, Sikkathambur and Sirunavalur. There were three Primary Cooperative Credit Societies and two milk cooperative societies near the Erakudi branch.

The new branch would transact all types of financial services with a focus on serving farmers.

Mr. Raju said the Amma pharmacies had received good patronage among the people. There were 285 Amma pharmacies in the State. They had transacted business to the tune of ₹849 crore. It was ₹30 crore in Tiruchi district.

Later, in a separate function held in Tiruchi, Mr. Raju declared open a cooperative petrol bunk, licensed to the Amaravathi Cooperative Supermarket on Goodshed Road.

Minister for Tourism Vellamandi N. Natarajan, Minister for Backward Classes and Minority Welfare S. Valarmathi, Registrar of Cooperative Societies K. Govindaraju, Collector S. Sivarasu and others spoke.
