Vodafone Idea launches Turbonet 4G in Coimbatore, Tiruppur

Telecommunication service provider Vodafone Idea launched Turbonet 4G in Coimbatore and Tiruppur as a measure to enhance network coverage and internet speed here recently.

Briefing the mediapersons, S. Murali, Business Head, Tamil Nadu, Vodafone Idea Limited, said that the initiative is based on integrating the existing networks of Vodafone and Idea in order to double the spectrum. The integration has resulted in the improved 4G network coverage, increased capacity and high-speed internet, he claimed.

“Coimbatore is one of our most important markets,” Mr. Murali said, noting that Coimbatore and Tiruppur will be the first cities in the State experiencing the improved facilities of this network. Turbonet 4G will be rolled out across Tamil Nadu in the next six to nine months, he said, noting that the networks in Madurai and Hosur will be integrated next.

Vodafone Idea will provide 61 Tamil television channels to the customers with Turbonet 4G through the Live TV feature, Mr. Murali said.

According to a press release, this initiative is aimed at eight lakh customers in Coimbatore and Tiruppur combined and a total of 500 network sites are currently present in both the cities.
