Greater Noida: A gang of vehicle
thieves was busted on Saturday, with the arrest of four men. They allegedly made duplicate keys of parked cars to steal them later.
Police said the arrested men have confessed that they sold each stolen
car for Rs 20,000 to 30,000 at illegal markets in Delhi and Meerut. The four have been identified as Mustakeem, Nepal Singh, both from Bulandshahr, Bhoora, from Sambhal and Afzaal, from Meerut.
Police said they were operating as a gang in Noida-NCR for one year. .
“They used their own car to find targets. They usually targeted parking spots and chose a car. They would park their car next to it to make a duplicate key. Later, they would follow the vehicle and steal it,” said Patnish Kumar, SHO, Badalpur. “They called a new car Bulbul. A car in good condition was a ‘bomb’,” The four were sent to jail after being produced in court.
